Victoria Bramwell (Vee Bee) is a British fashion designer from Milton Keynes who currently lives and works in the UK, with links to London, Glasgow and the US.
Victoria has always been creative, using art and sewing skills to create clothes, accessories, paintings and illustrations from a very young age.
A China Bambi is her creative symbol for where it all began. A vintage Disney china Bambi money box would sit on a dresser in her Grandmothers guest room in her bungalow cottage in Norfolk, UK. Every holiday growing up her Grandmother would save money in the moneybox for Victoria and her sister to use on creative purchases on holidays at Nanny's.
They would sit for hours sewing, painting, drawing, creating what ever they could think of, a process which is still with Victoria today, a constant drive to finish a project to see how the end result looks. They were free to raid their Grandmother’s closet full of vintage clothes, fabrics and haberdashery items like tins of buttons and lace to use in their creative ventures. The China Bambi represents her childhood, family, Disney obsession, her creative nurture and talent while reminding her of her closest family member, her Grandmother, Christina Bramwell, initials CB matching China Bambi.
Her Brand, Blog & persona is named China Bambi.
Victoria Bramwell set up her fashion brand in July 2010 creating bright and beautiful coloured garments with the first collection ‘Wonderland’ under the name Victoria Bramwell Fashion.
Showcasing at The Midlands Fashion Awards and winning the haute couture category and overall title for MFA 2010, she then followed this with a main stage feature at the Clothes Show Live in Birmingham.
In August 2011 the VB website was launched with a transactional online shop, allowing customers all over the world to purchase Victoria Bramwell fashion. Opening her brand with SS11/12 RTW 'Wonderland' collection.
In 2012 her Wonderland Collection was showcased on the Alternative Fashion week catwalk, while also becoming one of the final 20 contestants in Rihanna’s fashion show competition STYLED TO ROCK on Sky living.
Spending a year previously based in sunny Santa Monica California, she broadened her experience overseas with LA designers, collaborating with other artists, showcasing in the finale show at RAW:Hollywood at The El Rey Theatre with her mix of Wonderland Couture/RTW on the runway and also producing two new season collections.
Now under the name China Bambi, the brand creates two collections a year: SS and AW couture fashion and along side this, a high street affordable range for Women, Men and Children.
The brand is colourful, fun, bright and quirky, offering striking garments in limited edition collections. All components and fabrics are sourced and then handmade into the final garments by Victoria herself.
“The ethos of my work is to create colourful, fun and striking garments in limited edition collections for the wonderfully bold.
Mixing collections with ready to wear pieces and haute couture garments, offering a variety of outfits for everyone.
China Bambi prides itself on being different; appealing to people who want to stand out in the crowd, be individual, be desired, and want to own hand-crafted limited edition, timeless pieces which last a lifetime.
"I am inspired everyday and I enjoy the whole process of a garments journey. Seeing a drawing come to life as a garment and finishing something you have created is an incredible thrill.
I source all the fabrics personally from Thailand to achieve the highest quality whether it is the finest silk or the softest jersey.
China Bambi incorporates texture, intricate bold designs, quirky twists, colourful fabrics and unique prints designed by myself. I handprint selected garments and work closely with a bespoke print company to produce dazzling main collection prints.
All the products are hand-made by myself with love and care in the UK, priding my brand on the best quality and craftsmanship.
I aim to offer everyone a unique fashion experience not available on the high street. I am Alice in my own Wonderland.
My motto, Be Bold and Be Wonderful in China Bambi.”
